European Health Survey in Spain 2009

The European Health Survey 2009 (EES09) conducted by the National Statistics Institute and the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, is a five-yearly research aimed at households, which collects health-related information on population resident in Spain with ages of 16 and over through a common European questionnaire. This information allows the planning and evaluation of interventions in health matters, both European and national.

  • Population: Persons aged 16 and over resident in main family dwellings
  • Geographical scope: National
  • Fieldwork: April 2009 - March 2010
  • Sample size: Adults (16 and over), 22,188 personal interviews

The questionnaire consists of 4 modules: European social-demographic module (household and individual), European module on health status, European health care module and European module on health determinants.
