EuroCigua II maintains and increases the scientific consortium of excellence established in Eurocigua, as partners and collaborators. It involves national scientific organizations in food safety and public health, as well as European agencies and institutions in the Advisory Board, such as the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the European Commission, with the addition of the European Environment Agency (EEA) as a new collaborator. Since CP has become of worldwide concern in this project international collaborations will be maintained and enhanced and FAO has been included in the Advisory Board. EuroCiguaII will also maintain collaborations with experts from Japan and the USA, who, in addition to their contribution in the Advisory Board, will collaborate with some specific tasks in the characterization and development of reference materials. The project will also advantage of and seek synergies and mutual benefits with other related projects such as CIGUARISK (Spanish national research project) and RASPA (Interreg project). In addition, information of official control from the Government of the Canary Islands will be available.
