Highlights:

The Spanish Ministry of Health & Consumer Affairs’ Quality Agency, through the Women's Health Observatory, is to train health professionals in care in birth, in line with the Strategy for Care in Normal Birth in the Spanish National Health System (SNS). The training programme, for health professionals in the Spanish regions, will take the form of an intensive 3-day seminar (21-23 April 2009) and six monographic workshops (7 teaching hours each) between May 2009 and May 2010.

  • Federica Montseny Award. To reward research into gender and health matters, this Award will be given at SESPAS 2009 (see Events section) to the best paper on this topic. The Award is worth €3,000, funded by the Women's Health Observatory of the Ministry of Health & Consumer Affairs.
