As a precautionary measure, the following information on the characteristics of this epidemic outbreak is outlined below:
A person presenting after 1 November 2002 with history of:
high temperature (over 38ºC); AND
cough or breathing difficulty.
AND one or more of the following exposures during the 10 days prior to onset of symptoms:
close contact with a person who is a suspect or probable case of SARS;
history of travel to an area with local transmission of SARS (the list of SARS affected areas is updated daily on the following website: affected areas
residing in an affected area.
If after your arrival you develop these symptoms, you should call the medical emergency telephone number 112, to be informed of the health centre where you should go to seek medical care.
